A notebook that starts with fabric
These A5 notebooks all start from the same principle: a hardcover, then a chosen fabric to dress it. Kakimori entrusts this fabric to houses for whom it is their craft: the Banshu-ori fabrics by Shimada Textiles, yarn-dyed before weaving, the fabrics designed by Kentaro Tamai for his fashion brand Aseedonclöud, and the tenugui by Kamawanu. The Beige notebook, meanwhile, keeps a thick rayon and linen canvas with a natural texture. Inside, the sewn binding lets each page open flat, on a lightly printed 5 mm grid.

TEXTILE EXPERTISE
What sets these notebooks apart
Banshu-ori weaving
Shimada Textiles weaves these Banshu-ori fabrics from yarns dyed before weaving. Each number has its own material: slub cotton flecked with color, cotton with thicker yarns, or cotton blended with yak wool.
Aseedonclöud fabrics
The covers are designed by Aseedonclöud, the fashion brand of designer Kentaro Tamai: cotton and silk printed with a map for 06, chambray and striped shirting fabric in pure cotton for 07 and 08. Each notebook weighs 255 g for 128 pages.
The Kamawanu Tenugui
Kamawanu makes traditional tenugui and passes on hand-dyeing techniques preserved since ancient times. The Poppy seed notebook is adorned with one of these exclusive fabrics.
The thick linen of Beige
On the Beige notebook, the thick linen matches the classic design of the house. Its natural texture remains pleasant to the touch.
A binding that lies flat
The sewn binding ensures that each page lies perfectly flat. With the hardcover, you can easily write even while holding the notebook in your hand.
A gentle grid for the eyes
The 5 mm grid is printed in a light tint on OK Fools paper suited to fountain pens. It works for both writing and diagrams.
