HANDMADE POLEPOLE WOODEN ANIMALS
“Pole pole” means “slowly, little by little” in Swahili. The Japanese manufacturer T-Lab is committed to preserving the craft of woodworking. The original minimalist design, with its rounded and soft shapes, makes these animals especially endearing and adorable. Cut, carved, finely sanded, and hand-painted, each piece is unique and slightly different!
- Plant-based paint
- Albizia Falcata wood sourced from eco-responsible forests
- Each animal is different, each model is unique: size and shape may vary
- Decorative object, not suitable for young children
ECO-RESPONSIBLE WOODEN ANIMALS
T-Lab preserves the natural and rapid growth of Albizia Falcata forests by committing to replant the trees used for its production. This is a completely natural product, free from chemical treatments or pollutants, both in the wood and in the paint used.
A NATURAL AND MINIMALIST DECORATIVE OBJECT
The simplicity and softness of this animal will soothe you throughout the day. It will easily find its place on your desk: a simple glance at your animal totem will be enough to make you forget the worries of everyday life.
The perfect balance between the natural color of the wood and the black paint makes it a unique decorative piece that will blend harmoniously into your interior. Your Polepole animal will thrive just as well in a bright spot like a windowsill as in the shadow of a bookshelf.
For optimal harmony with your decor, it is ideal to place your favorite animal in an environment that matches this type of object: a wooden shelf, a Scandinavian-inspired desk, or as decoration in a child’s room.

Designed in Japan, carved in Bali
Each Polepole animal is born from a sketch in Japan and then takes shape in Bali, hand-carved from albizia wood. No two are exactly alike. Polepole means "slowly" in Swahili: placed on a shelf, they invite you to take your time.

T-LAB EXPERTISE
What makes these animals unique
A Japanese sketch
Each animal begins with a drawing in Japan, featuring simple and gentle lines, recognizable among all.
The hand of Balinese sculptors
The artisans of Bali carve each piece from albizia wood. The blade marks remain visible; it's the signature of handmade craftsmanship.
Plant-based paint
The soft shades come from plant-based paints, applied in thin layers that allow the wood to breathe.
None is identical
The grain of the wood, the angle of the blade, the artisan's gesture: each animal is a unique piece.
Slowly, gently
The name comes from Swahili. It is an invitation to slow down, place an animal nearby, and breathe.
A growing menagerie
Polar bears, penguins, cats, parakeets: the family includes dozens of species to collect.
