BRAND HISTORY
Daiyo was founded in Takashima County, Shiga Prefecture, in 1914. The craftsmanship has been passed down through four generations and refined over time. Shiga Prefecture is home to Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, and abundant natural resources. As a result, Shiga has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the coexistence of people and nature. Daiyo Japanese candles are made from 100% natural plant-based wax. Our principles of making candles from nature's blessings have remained unchanged since our founding more than a century ago.
