M-sized pouch (21.9 × 15.3 cm) made of Kurume kasuri fabric by OKAMOTO SHOTEN, featuring a navy and white wavy wave pattern. A traditional Japanese technique where the pattern is created by dyeing the threads before weaving.
INSPIRED BY THE TIMELESS ART OF JAPANESE WEAVING
Developed in collaboration with Robinson and the historic workshop Okamoto Shoten, these Kurume "kasuri" pouches pay tribute to one of Japan’s most iconic textile traditions.
Unlike ordinary textiles, kasuri is not printed after weaving. Each thread is individually dyed beforehand, a meticulous and ancient process that requires great skill and remarkable precision.
During weaving, these pre-dyed threads create patterns with soft, slightly blurred edges. This characteristic "kasuri" effect gives each pouch a poetic, almost painterly aesthetic. Each pattern embodies patience, craftsmanship, and a heritage refined over more than two centuries.
