The choice of fabric

A Japanese fabric wrapped around a pocket notebook

At Kakimori, choosing a pocket notebook cover is like selecting a fabric. Some come from Y. & Sons, a specialty shop and creator of men's kimonos, which also offers a custom tailoring service. Others originate from Enshu orimono, a traditional weaving technique passed down through generations in the western part of Shizuoka Prefecture since the Edo period. There, the mild climate has nurtured the cultivation of cotton and indigo for centuries. The fabric dresses the notebook, the refill is replaceable, and the notebook accompanies you year after year.

TEXTILE EXPERTISE

What makes the Mini note cover

01

A cover, refills

The cover is interchangeable and is refilled with a new insert when the previous one is finished. This way, it can be used for a very long time.

02

Two refills to choose from

A pad with detachable pages for quick notes, or a spiral notebook that keeps your writings intact. The cover accommodates both.

03

Fabrics chosen one by one

Each blanket is made from carefully selected fabrics, pattern by pattern.

04

The fabrics of Y. & Sons

Y. & Sons is a specialty shop and creator of men's kimonos, offering a custom tailoring service. Its fabrics also cover part of the blankets.

05

Enshu orimono since Edo

A weaving technique passed down from generation to generation in the western part of Shizuoka Prefecture since the Edo period. The blankets made from it are produced in limited editions.

06

Sold without its refill

The cover and the refill are packaged and sold separately. Refills remain available individually.
