Use & Care

Brass and wood in the same hand
These pieces are made in Japan and combine solid brass with wood. On the business card case, an inlay of granadillo, Macassar ebony, or teak is set directly into the metal, and the case comes with its box. Inspired by old-fashioned room keys, the hotel key ring combines a wooden plate with a solid brass fitting and features a number applied in gold leaf. The unvarnished brass develops a patina through contact with the air and fingers, and each piece gradually takes on its own appearance.

THE PICUS EXPERTISE
What sets these brass and wood pieces apart
Two assembled materials
Each piece is made in Japan and combines brass with solid wood. The contrast between the two is immediately visible and tangible.
A soft wood in hand
The wood is smooth and soft in the hand. It’s the part the fingers find first.
An organic texture
The appearance and texture of the piece remain organic, far from perfectly uniform metal. No two pieces are exactly alike.
The patina of time
Brass develops a patina over time through contact with air and hands. Each piece changes in appearance over the months of use.
One fuel type per model
The card holder features an inlay of granadillo, Macassar ebony, or teak and comes with its box. The hotel key fob is available in cherry, walnut, satin, or merbau.
A gentle interview
Wood and brass coexist on the same piece, so we avoid polishing and products that could mark the wood. We simply let the patina develop.
