The origin

A city that has thrived on the blade for seven centuries

Shizu Hamono works in Seki, one of the most famous cities in Japan for blade production for over 750 years. The Morinoki collection combines the artisans' expertise with a simple and refined design, created to highlight the beauty of the wood. "Morinoki" literally means "forest tree," and the name becomes clear as soon as you hold the piece in your hand. The handles are made of keyaki, the Japanese elm, also known as zelkova. Each handle retains its own grain and color, so no piece is exactly the same as another.

Expertise

What makes a Morinoki room

01

Seki, city of blades

Shizu Hamono is produced in Seki, where blades have been made for over 750 years. The Morinoki collection comes from this Japanese manufacturer.

02

Stainless steel

The blade of the Morinoki roller is made of stainless steel, with a very sharp edge that requires immediate drying after use.

03

Keyaki, dense wood

The handles are made from solid zelkova, the Japanese elm. A wood with a smooth texture, whose grain remains visible to the touch.

04

No identical parts

The handles are made of natural wood, so each piece has its own grain and color. It is the texture of the wood that makes the difference between two items.

05

A drawing that gets straight to the point

Morinoki prioritizes simplicity, with slender shapes and refreshing colors. Nothing competes with the texture of the wood.

06

Hand wash

Clean after use and dry immediately, without soaking or putting in the dishwasher. The blade is very sharp, so keep it out of reach of children.
