MULTI-USE BREAD BOARD L
"KITO" is a series of wooden products designed so you can spend your daily life with trees. Literally, "ki to" (木と) means "with the tree." We believe the comfort that only solid wood can provide is essential for a peaceful life.
This bread board is available in two sizes and can just as well serve as a brunch board for arranging bread, pancakes, fruit, etc. You can also use it to make a cheese or charcuterie platter.
Its height makes it easy to handle.
Thanks to the grooves, freshly baked bread can cool down gradually, and makis or onigiris won’t stick to the board. Meat juices and sauces won’t drip. The spacing between the grooves is safe if you want to place a cup or a pot on it.
The material is domestic cherry wood. There aren’t many large-diameter cherry trees, so to avoid wasting this precious cherry wood, we use thin boards from the production of other products and glue them together.
AIZAWA WOOD WORK
The beauty of wood
It takes about 100 years for a tree to reach a size suitable for making plates and trays. We use the precision and speed of machines to carve wood from the mountains without waste, without producing scrap.
A delicate hand polishing creates a high-quality feel. The 100 years of strength trapped in the solid wood have been carved to be used for more than 100 years. We value trees and choose ways to live our lives so as to pass on the rich mountain forests to future generations.
Mountain ranges create ridges and valleys, and water flows through them, forming many streams. The streams grow plants, nourish trees, and form forests. Many streams have nurtured forests, and we want to continue offering the comfort of trees in people’s daily lives by using the trees that have grown in these forests.

KITO, everyday life in solid wood
AIZAWA WOOD WORK crafts the KITO series, "with the tree" in Japanese: solid wood trays, bowls, and boards designed so that the comfort of wood accompanies everyday life. Shapes of flowers and clouds, gentle to the eye and to the touch.

THE EXPERTISE OF AIZAWA WOOD WORK
What makes these objects unique
Solid wood
No veneer: each board is carved from solid wood, with natural grain and warmth.
Turned and sanded in the workshop
The parts go through the lathe and are then sanded until they have a soft, almost silky feel.
Shapes of flowers and clouds
Rinka the flower, the three-lobed clouds: organic shapes that brighten up the table.
With the tree, every day
KITO means "with the tree": objects made to be used every day, not just to sit in a display case.
The wood patina
The wood darkens and develops a patina with use. Each tabletop takes on its own unique shade.
Tea for dinner
Under the teapot, for onigiri or slicing: a size for every moment of the day.
