Black lacquer pen rest - urushi

The cherry wood pen holder is lacquered using the fuki-urushi technique ("wiped urushi"), in which the wood is impregnated with urushi lacquer to highlight the beauty of the grain.

A pen rest that enhances the moments between writing. Designed to hold any pen without the need for precise placement, it effortlessly blends into your workspace with a subtle yet assured presence.

The simple matte lacquer completes any office space and pairs well with our Japanese cherry wood and aluminum pen holders. Enjoy your own combination.

Fuki-urushi is a traditional technique also widely used in historical architecture. Our pen rest and fountain pen holder are dyed with ink before being lacquered to highlight both the beauty of the wood grain and the lacquer itself.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
The presence of shiny spots on the surface is due to an accumulation of urushi lacquer in the wood fibers and should not be considered a defect. Imperfections are part of the charm of natural wood, and we hope you will appreciate its unique character.
To avoid any deformation and discoloration, avoid soaking it in water, sudden temperature changes, extreme heat, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Due to the nature of the material and the treatment, the grain and color vary from one piece to another.
"If it is marked with ink, wipe it with a soft cloth."
