The N°08 adventurer is the most versatile folding knife.
Its pierced handle and cord make it practical to hang. Its stainless steel blade is resistant to corrosion. The handle is comfortable in the hand. The safety system, the Virobloc®, locks the blade in the open and closed positions.
- Blade size: 8.5 cm
Blade: Modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. It is corrosion-resistant due to the addition of chromium and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives it an excellent edge.
The shape of the blade: The classic Opinel blade has adopted a Yatagan shape. The Yatagan shape is inspired by a traditional Turkish saber, with the point facing upwards. The blade is sharpened according to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows for effective re-sharpening.
The Haendel: Sourced from French forests, this lightly veined white wood is ideal for applying color. The handle is varnished to protect it from moisture and dirt.
Safety ring: Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is equipped on all folding knives starting from No. 06. Made from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (user safety), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (transport safety).
