The rice cooker makes rice the centerpiece of the table.
We wanted to make cooking rice more enjoyable and comforting. That’s why we designed a clay ceramic rice cooker that you’ll love to use every day.
Its soft and nuanced tones and naturally warm texture embody the essence of clay ceramic.
The rice cooker enhances and maximizes the flavor of rice.
The subtle sweetness of rice is revealed when amylase breaks down starch into sugar. This enzymatic reaction is most active at temperatures between 40 and 60 °C. Unlike metal or electric rice cookers, clay cookers have lower thermal conductivity, allowing them to pass through this critical temperature range slowly, resulting in sweeter and deliciously cooked rice.
Simplicity means no more hassle
The unique low-absorption glaze eliminates the need to season the cooker before first use. Water level marks for 1 and 2 cups of white rice make measuring water unnecessary. Simply cook over medium heat and turn off the heat when bubbles appear at the edge of the lid—no stress over heat control. The seal is achieved through precise 0.1 mm adjustments and artisan craftsmanship, making an inner lid unnecessary.
Designed to fit modern lifestyles
Its round, compact shape fits perfectly into modern life. Once cooking is done, it can also serve as a container for the rice. PETARI’s moderate moisture absorption helps preserve the rice’s flavor. Any leftover rice can be stored in the refrigerator or reheated directly in the microwave in the cooker.
About our glaze
Our artisans hand-apply our original glazes to each cooker.
As a result, slight color irregularities may appear due to differences in glaze thickness. This does not affect use.
Enjoy the warmth of handmade cookers.• ✅ Gas stove (direct flame / 直火)
• ✅ Conventional oven
• ✅ Microwave oven
• ✅ Radiant electric cooktop (radiant cooktop / ラジエントヒーター)
However:
• ❌ Induction cooktops (IH): not compatible. PETARI does not list them among accepted heat sources, and the lack of a ferromagnetic base makes the pot unusable on induction.About ceramic products
