MULTI-PURPOSE BREAD BOARD S
“KITO” is a series of wooden products created so that you can spend your daily life with trees. Literally, “ki to” (木と) means “with the tree”. We believe that the comfort only solid wood can provide is essential for a peaceful life.
This bread board is available in two sizes and can also be used as a brunch board for arranging bread, pancakes, fruit, etc. You can also use it to serve cheese or charcuterie.
Its height makes it easy to grip.
Thanks to the grooves, freshly baked bread can cool gradually, and maki rolls or onigiri will not stick to the board. Meat juices and sauces will not run off. The spacing between the grooves is safe if you want to place a cup or saucepan on top.
The material is domestic cherry wood. There are not many large-diameter cherry trees, so to avoid wasting this precious cherry wood, we use thin boards left over from the production of other products and glue them together.
AIZAWA WOOD WORK
The Beauty of Wood
It takes around 100 years for a tree to reach a size suitable for making plates and trays. We use the precision and speed of machines to shape wood from the mountains without waste and without producing scraps.
Delicate hand polishing creates a high-quality feel. The 100 years of strength trapped in the solid wood have been sculpted so that it can be used for more than 100 years. We value trees and choose ways of living that pass on the rich mountain forests to future generations.
Mountain ranges create ridges and valleys, and water flows through them, forming many streams. The streams nourish plants, trees and forests. Many streams have nourished forests, and we would like to continue offering people the comfort of trees in their daily lives by using trees that have grown in these forests.

KITO, the everyday board
AIZAWA WOOD WORK crafts the KITO series, meaning "with the tree" in Japanese. This breadboard comes in two sizes, carved from solid wood and grooved. The bread fresh from the oven cools down gradually on it, and makis or onigiris don’t stick. Its thickness provides a good grip, so it easily moves from the countertop to the table. The comfort that only solid wood can bring, every day.

THE EXPERTISE OF AIZAWA WOOD WORK
What makes this board unique
Solid wood
No veneer: the board is made of thin pieces of solid cherry wood left over from other productions, because large-diameter cherry trees are rare and the wood is precious.
Cut and then hand-sanded
The wood from the mountains is machine-cut with precision, without losing any material, then gently hand-polished.
Useful grooves
Carved into the surface, they allow the baked bread to cool gradually and prevent makis or onigiris from sticking.
A thickness that you can grasp
The height of the board makes it easy to handle, so you can lift and move it without hesitation.
Two sizes, one same use
S or L according to the table, for morning bread as well as for a sharing board.
From brunch to aperitif
Bread, crepes, and fruit in the morning, cheese or cold cuts later, the same board follows every meal.
