Usage & Entretien
If there are ink marks, wipe them off with a soft, clean cloth.
When removing the nib from the nib holder, pull it out gently while twisting to avoid dislodging the nib support.
After rinsing, shake it well downward to remove any water or ink from the nib support before inserting a nib.

Wood in hand, feather at the tip
Kakimori was born in 2010 in Kuramae, a workshop district in Tokyo. Its fountain pens are turned from wood, walnut reclaimed from furniture production scraps, oiled Japanese maple, and cherry wood dyed with Tokushima indigo. The finish is applied by hand by artisans, so no piece is exactly the same as another. The patinated brass nib fits on top and is sold separately, allowing you to change it according to your mood or the desired line.

Fountain Pen and Brass Nib
How are these parts made?
The reused walnut tree
The walnut dip pen is made from scraps recovered from furniture production. At 178 mm, it sits in the hand like a regular pencil.
The hand-oiled maple
The Mini models are crafted from Japanese maple wood and finished with a vegetable oil that meets the highest international safety standards. It is applied by hand by artisans.
Tokushima Indigo
The Aizome pen holder is made from Japanese cherry wood, then hand-dyed by artisans using indigo grown in Tokushima. The wood grain remains visible beneath the color.
The patinated brass pen nib
The patina replicates the natural aging of brass through an organic-based treatment. It may vary from one nib to another.
Two separate pieces
The nib is always sold separately from the pen holder. The assembly follows universal specifications, so most standard nibs fit.
A material that moves
The walnut brown lightens over time, the oiled finish changes with use, and the brass patina wears away to reveal the original shine.
