Black lacquer pen holder - urushi

A pen holder made from Japanese cherry wood and lacquered using the fuki-urushi (“wiped urushi”) technique, where the wood is impregnated with urushi lacquer to highlight the beauty of the grain.

The writing tools we choose also touch our emotions. We aimed to create a tool that inspires a lifetime of use, bringing joy to our hands and soul. Designed to universal specifications to fit all standard nibs, the pen holder will accompany you through a lifetime of writing.

The simple, refined matte lacquer complements any office space or occasion.

Fuki-urushi is a traditional technique also widely used in historic architecture. Our pen rest and pen holder are dyed with ink before being lacquered to highlight both the beauty of the wood grain and the lacquer itself.

USAGE AND CARE
Pen holder only — nib sold separately.
To avoid warping and discoloration, avoid soaking in water, sudden temperature changes, or extreme heat, and
prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Due to the nature of the material and treatment, grain and color vary from piece to piece.
If marked with ink, wipe it with a soft cloth.
When removing the nib from the pen holder, pull it out gently while twisting to avoid dislodging the nib mount.
After rinsing, shake well downward to remove any water or ink from the nib holder before inserting a nib.
