THE LIMITED EDITION BOUND NOTEBOOK
A bound notebook created for daily use. The Smyth sewn binding ensures that each page opens perfectly flat. The pages feature a light gray grid hand-drawn to be easy on the eyes and not stand out when scanned. We designed this notebook to fit on a shelf and become part of a treasured collection over time.
Banshu-ori textile cover. The woven pattern known as hakeme (brush mark) is created by alternating a number of different threads to give a brushed appearance. The fabric is finished with two distinct surface treatments to add a smooth sheen as well as a finely crinkled texture, as if it had been washed many times.
Shimada Textiles is a textile manufacturer with over 90 years of history in Nishiwaki, Hyogo Prefecture, one of Japan’s main Banshu-ori regions. The company creates original fabrics by working with highly skilled artisans at every stage of production.
