Black Lacquer Pen Rest - Urushi

The pen holder made of Japanese cherry wood is lacquered using the fuki-urushi technique ("wiped urushi"), where the wood is impregnated with urushi lacquer to highlight the beauty of the grain.

A pen rest that enhances moments between writing. Designed to hold any pen without needing precise placement, it effortlessly blends into your workspace with a subtle yet confident presence.

The simple matte lacquer complements any office space and pairs well with our Japanese cherry and aluminum pen holders. Enjoy your own combination.

Fuki-urushi is a traditional technique also widely used in historic architecture. Our pen rest and pen holder are ink-stained before being lacquered to showcase both the beauty of the wood grain and the lacquer itself.

USE AND CARE
The presence of shiny spots on the surface is due to an accumulation of urushi lacquer in the wood fibers and should not be considered a defect. Imperfections are part of the charm of natural wood, and we hope you appreciate its unique character.
To avoid warping and discoloration, avoid soaking it in water, sudden temperature changes, extreme heat, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Due to the nature of the material and treatment, grain and color vary from piece to piece.
If marked with ink, wipe it with a soft cloth.
