Large plate - Old pottery series - Gray
Large stoneware plate from the CHIPS Antique Pottery series, made in Hasami, Japan. Ø222 × H24 mm, matte gray color with an antique metal look. Its shade gradually changes with each use due to oils and acids.
CHIPS - LARGE PLATE – ANCIENT POTTERY SERIES
Its clean edge evokes a frame, highlighting the ingredients and dishes you place on it like a work of art in a painting.
The color features a subdued shade and an elegant texture reminiscent of old metal tableware, hard to believe it’s ceramic.
With each use, the color slightly changes due to oils and acids, making this plate a living object that transforms over time.
Watching these subtle changes becomes a true pleasure.
Another advantage: it enhances the colors of the foods and dishes you pair with it.

CHIPS EXPERTISE
What makes this tableware unique
Mino, land of ceramics
The region has been producing pottery for centuries. CHIPS sources its clays and kilns there.
Getting started first
Shapes designed to fit comfortably in hand and lift effortlessly, even in large sizes.
Living glazes
Depending on the kiln and firing, the shades vary slightly from one piece to another. That’s the beauty of Mino ceramics.
The Mismatched Game
The colors are designed to blend: each table creates its own palette.
Stackable, from the cupboard to the table
Stackable mugs and bowls save space without sacrificing style.
Heritage, without the museum
CHIPS borrows from Mino traditions, like the mysterious green of Oribe, and brings them into everyday life.
