HEUGE SETOGURO MUG
Momoyama period pottery is also known as “Hikidashi Kuro” (drawer black) or “Tensho Kuro” (Tensho black) due to the firing method and the era in which it was made. One of its features is its glossy, deep jet black glaze, so opaque that the color of the base material is not visible.
To create a Setoguro tableware that can be widely used on the modern dining table, we used modern glaze blends and techniques rather than the traditional methods to achieve a glossy, true jet black color. Enjoy the contrast between the unique black-on-black tableware and colorful ingredients.
Mug with a unique, very stable shape, like a tea cup in a sushi restaurant, yet lightweight. The handles are individually hand-shaped and are slightly thicker than normal handles, allowing for a firm grip.
