With their simple shape and classic colors, very popular during the period of rapid economic growth in Japan, these waste baskets are still widely used today in living rooms and offices with their simple yet aesthetic form and a look that a plastic basket cannot offer. In 2015, this design received the "Good Design・Long-Life Design" award.
These waste baskets are very durable and resist rust well thanks to crimped seams rather than welding. Although made of steel, the edges where the plates are joined are covered with a single plate to allow gentle contact with the fingers and prevent clothing from catching. The finish is high-end thanks to high-quality painting work instead of printing.

BUNBUKU baskets take on a conical shape that became familiar in Japan during the period of rapid economic growth, in the 1960s. It was then found in offices as well as living rooms, and it has remained there. The cone is made of steel, which gives it a look that a plastic basket cannot offer. The conical shape

Steel rather than plastic
Steel gives the basket a look that a plastic version cannot offer, and makes it very durable.
Crimping, no welding
The plates are assembled by crimping rather than welding. Without welding, the basket resists rust much better.
Soft edges to the touch
At the junction of the plates, a single plate covers the edge. The contact remains smooth to the touch and nothing catches on the clothing.
Painted or printed
The large model has a baked acrylic paint finish, the small one is printed directly on tin-free steel sheet.
