KOTORI: the little wooden birds from T-LAB

Rangée de petits oiseaux en bois KOTORI de T-LAB

Place one on the shelf and it calls the others. The KOTORI birds from T-LAB, kotori means little bird in Japanese, form a pocket aviary: sparrow, tits, parakeet, each with its own plumage, each with its own character, all carved from the same soft wood.

An aviary in the palm of your hand

The sparrow with a brown breast, the black-capped tit, the Japanese white-eyed bird, the blue budgerigar or the all-white long-tailed tit: each bird is captured in just a few true colors, with round eyes and a sketched beak.

Birds to collect

The series was created for the row: three birds side by side make a lively windowsill, five make an aviary. The plant-based colors age beautifully and the albizia wood remains light, allowing you to move the flock as you wish.

The same craftsmanship as the greats

Like the entire Pole Pole collection, the KOTORI are designed in Japan and hand-carved in Bali. The same visible grain, the same small variations from one piece to another: two sparrows will never be perfectly identical. The complete series nests in the KOTORI collection and in the T-LAB figurine collection.

And to expand the aviary

The KOTORI have cousins in the larger collection: the colorful parakeet, the owl with round eyes, the prouder eagle, the peacock trailing its tail. By mixing the small birds from the series with the waders and raptors from the classics, you create a multi-level aviary, from the windowsill to the top of the bookshelf.

A collector’s tip: leave space between the birds. Three KOTORI spaced a hand apart tell the story of a branch in spring, ten close together tell the story of a cage. And since each piece is hand-carved, taking the time to choose each bird is part of the pleasure.

Kotori means little bird in Japanese: it is the series of wooden birds from T-LAB, including sparrow, tits, parakeet, and their companions.
